Hi cosplayers!

Welcome to PhotoSynthetique! My name is Drayke Larson, I’m a Minneapolis photographer who loves working with anyone who takes their personal fandoms seriously. Whether it’s anime, video games, RPGs, CCGs, TV shows, K dramas, or any other thing you feel you can get geeky about, I want to hear about it! I’m a huge fan of many things myself (Warhammer40k, Doctor Who, Star Trek, Star Wars, Fallout, Transformers (G1), etc) and I think it’s awesome when people create their own unique homages to their chosen favourite whatever.

 

What I am always amazed by, is the fact that many cosplayers spend many hours and hundreds (sometimes thousands) of dollars creating the absolute perfect outfit and accessories, and then the only photos they have to share with those who don’t attend the same conventions is a crappy photo taken in a hotel hallway at 1am. What a horrible waste! They should be sharing their talents and creativity with the world! They should have photos that show off their creations in the very best light, that help convey the hard work and dedication that went into assembling such a fantastic costume!

 

Of course, you are not like those other cosplayers, and that’s why you are here! You want professional, beautiful images that will compliment your work and show off to the world what you can do. I fully understand your need to show respect to the source material and want to work with you to find the perfect way to photograph your character(s) in a setting that is fitting and does them the most justice. It’s my goal to be just as serious about cosplay as you are.

 

I want to work with more cosplayers! I’m hoping that you, yes you!, will help me out. My standard portrait sessions start at $250, but for cosplayers (including groups!) it is only $125! Some restrictions apply, but don’t let that discourage you, working with me is often more like hanging out, talking about awesome things and oh yeah, I just happen to be taking some awesome photos too.

 

So go ahead and send me an email, give me a call, text, message me on Facebook, G+, or whatever other method of communication you prefer. We can chat about your character and see how I can help make a completely original shoot just for you. If I’m not already familiar with your source material, I have the internet and I’m a quick study. I like to know as much about who you are portraying as I can, so that I can help you appear as much your character as you can.
